The project brought people from diverse backgrounds together to share and learn about each other’s cultures and customs. It included a one day celebration of culture diversity in Basildon. Activities for the one day event included education on 4 different cultures, workshop on how our community can work better together, what services we need to have in place for better collaboration and a SWOT Analysis of where we are now. The project also delivered community engagement through sports. This project was initiated by members of the community, with the aim to build a stronger, more resilient community where challenging issues can be addressed collaboratively. The project provided
opportunities to create better working relationships, develop confidence in working and relating to each other. The project has reduced the amount of people holding attitudes, beliefs and feelings that oppose shared values.
